International Journal of Sustainable Development & Society (IJSDS) accepts research and critical review articles.

Research Articles

Research articles are evaluated using qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methodology and single-subject methodology, and fall within the following areas:

1. Poverty, Inequality, and Social Justice
Covers SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Focuses on social exclusion, income distribution, and inclusive policies.

2. Food Security, Health, and Well being
Integrates SDGs 2 (Zero Hunger) and 3 (Good Health and Well being). Includes sustainable agriculture, nutrition, public health, and access to healthcare.

3. Education, Gender Equality, and Inclusion
Addresses SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 5 (Gender Equality). Encompasses equal opportunities in education, women’s empowerment, and integration of disadvantaged groups.

4. Infrastructure, Energy, and Economic Growth for Sustainable Development
Covers SDGs 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). Explores green energy transition, circular economy, employment, and technological innovation.

5. Sustainable Cities, Communities, and Consumption
Includes SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Focuses on smart cities, urban transformation, waste management, and sustainable supply chains.

6. Climate Action and Ecosystem Conservation
Brings together SDGs 13 (Climate Action), 14 (Life Below Water), and 15 (Life on Land). Covers climate change mitigation, biodiversity, ecosystem restoration, and nature based solutions.

7. Water Resources Management and Clean Environment
Centered on SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). Includes water security, wastewater treatment, watershed management, and environmental sustainability.

8. Multi stakeholder Collaboration and Global Partnerships
Based on SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Examines public private civil society collaborations, sustainability financing, policy processes, and international governance for sustainable development.


Submissions in these areas should be highly scientific papers. IJSDS is looking for submissions that combine feasible proposals with quality applications. A strong link between theory, policy and practice is expected in the submitted papers.

Critical Review Articles

Critical review articles should link theory and practice and produce informative resources for educators, practitioners and policy makers. IJSDS seeks submissions that critically combine viable proposals with quality practices. It is expected that theory, policy and practice will be tightly linked in the submitted papers.
