Red Flags for Financial Abuse of older Adults

This study describes the definition, causes, consequences and solutions of Economic Abuse of the older adults. Economic abuse of older adults means the misuse of financial resources of older adultsly individuals as they get older, providing unfair gain and making their financial situations difficult. This type of abuse leads to serious consequences at both the individual and societal levels. Considering the fact that older individuals are one of the most vulnerable groups in society, economic exploitation poses a significant problem in terms of social justice and human rights violations. Economic exploitation of the older adultsly means abusing individuals' financial resources during their old age or gaining unfair profit from them. This situation threatens the social, psychological and financial security of older individuals. Economic exploitation of the older adults is a serious problem faced not only by individuals but also by societies. We aim to provide a comprehensive perspective on the effects of economic abuse against the older adults and solution suggestions. The aim of this study is to comprehensively examine the phenomenon of economic abuse faced by older individuals by exploring its definition, causes, consequences, and possible solutions. In conclusion, protecting elderly individuals from economic abuse is of great importance for both safeguarding individual rights and ensuring the sustainability of social welfare.
